NADA DROBNJAK
Nada Drobnjak is a prominent political leader of the Democratic Socialists Party of Montenegro (DPS). She was a member of presidency of DPS Presidency in period from 2007 till 2011, contributing to integrate women vision in the political thinking of her party and widely throughout society fostering democracy and democratic reforms.
She was born in 1963. Graduated at Faculty of Civil Engineering and worked as professor at Secondary Civil Engineering School in Podgorica. In period 2001/2002, she served as MP in the Assembly of Montenegro, and initiated establishment of Assembly Committee on Gender Equality where she was appointed as the first Chairperson of the Committee. She was delegate of Podgorica Municipal Assembly in period 2002/2006. She was the Head of Gender Equality Office within Montenegro Government from April 2003 to May 2009, when she was elected to serve in the Assembly of Montenegro, and later on appointed for the position of Chairperson of the Committee on Gender Equality and member of International Relations and European Integration Committee. As of June 1 2010 she serves as member of Parliamentary Committee on Stabilization and Association of the Assembly of Montenegro and European Parliament.
Bells Coalition Regional Project awarded her price Respected Environment Ambassador. Also, she is Gender Focal Point of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict in Western Balkans.
She participated in number of conferences, seminars and round tables on human rights and gender equality.
