Edita Tahiri, RWLSEE Chair attended the virtual event on 25th anniversary of the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, held on October 25, 2021. The event welcomed over 800 participants representing civil society and women’s rights organizations, donors, UN Member States and UN partners around the world. Among the key speakers were Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General, Sima Bahous, UN Women Executive Director, Nicole Kidman, UN Goodwill Ambassador and state representatives of many countries and civil society representative. Calls on ending violence against women were echoed strongly, while progress has been seen as limited with common commitments to do much more in the future.

Representatives of past and current grantees described their empowering experiences of creating long-lasting, positive impacts for women and girl survivors and those at risk of violence, and of strengthening their organizational resilience, through projects supported by the UN Trust Fund.
